& She Asked

& She Asked

written by: Ivan S. Fiske IV

& she asked, “so, what are we?”/ a cliche that felt so special at that moment/ body clothed with butterflies/ like a drunker i was on, another planet filled with ecstasy/ sober but filled with her charms/ heart ill with her smiles/ beautiful, sweet, i mean this girl is sick/

so when she asked, “…what are we?”/ it’s not like it’s what i wanted to hear/ but her intention of wanting more of me felt amazing/ like listening to your favorite music on a beach/ this girl does to me like a lace does to a shoe/ & i want her by me for as long as we breathe/ our eyes hugging each other, i answered, we are what we are, we are the world
