Calla Lillies

Calla Lillies

written by: PR Hebert

An early morning walk
Down the steep cobble stone road
The dew still covers all
The morning breeze is absent

The local bread shop
Offers coffee and sweet bread
Afew laze about sipping coffee
Black as pitch and strong as hell

People smile and move about
How serene it seems
An old man leads a mule
Loaded with sugar cane bound for market

An old woman spreads calla lilies
On a serape a child sleeps nearby
How picturesque it seems like
A Diego Rivera scene
