happy 

can I be  your
              comforting   
 cardigan
                  when 
the cold wind
                blows
ruthless
                over  
the valleys
          you traverse..     

when it 
            pains
inside, outside
                     your 
ostriched self
       can I be your
soothing balm?

when 
       you reach 
your room 
             desolate
to find 
          your table
wiped off 
           by wayward 
winds
        can I help
gather
        the scattered?
     
when 
       you open 
 the window
           to get 
piercing 
             sounds,
worlds
         encroaching.     
    can I be 
             your
 soothing music..

when 
       wordless
you turn 
         as witness
to the medley 
                can I be
 your peace
                 inside.. 

can I be 
        the warm hearth
you 
       huddle around
back
      after a walk
so long
           in freezing cold..

can I.. can I ?

Dr Molly Joseph

Dr. Molly Joseph is a professor, poet from Kerala, she has had her Doctorate in Post War American Poetry. Much anthologised, she travels worldwide, writes travelogues, short stories and story books for children. She has published 17 books,13 books of poems, a novel and a story book for children. Her latest work, "Songs of Silence" was released on 14th of May, 2022.
