Card Game

Card Game

written by: Jeff Flaig

The ace of spades landed on top
Stole my hand, your hand
The dealer didn’t have a clue
How I felt about you

Yet we were dealt separate lives
And the cards just didn’t fall our way
As the chips are raked from the table
And we are both left empty and broken

Just two players trying to win
Each with our strategies on life
And the dealer, hell who knows his name,
Just tossed the cards our way

I complained that you didn’t try hard enough
You thought that I was looking for another queen
While the ace of spades fell neatly on the table
And we went our separate ways
