Coffee

Coffee

Sweet solace of your bitter, acidic taste,
The scent that makes me glimmer,
I take rest in its warmth,

I sit, cup in hand, and observe the morning world,
A moment’s peace in the cacophony of life,
This moment is my religion,

I find my peace in the sound of the jungle,
Sipping the bittersweet nectar,
Time stands still and I am at one,

Amongst the putrid hate of the world, this single moment allows me peace,
Spiritual joy in a china cup,

And when the world becomes too much to stomach,
This moment will hold me in perpetual bliss,
And allow me to escape my mind.
