Cupid's Fool

written by: Lakita Speaks

@LakitaSpeakred

I feel like taking Cupid’s bow and arrow and wrapping it around his neck
Screaming my pains out to anyone who will listen
YES
I’m that upset.

I feel like I rummaged through the garbage and recycled old brokenness
Wrapped it up in pretty paper
Put a bow on it
And called it happiness.

I feel stupid for loving a man who fell in love with a mirage
Now disappointed because his reality isn’t as perfect as the facade.

What do you do when love says No?
But you’re too stubborn and too attached to let go?

How does it feel to be 50 shades of pain?
Invest
Years
Time
And in return all you get is shame?

I feel like taking Cupid’s bow and arrow and wrapping it around his neck
I’ve
Given
And
Given
And
Gave
I
Have
Nothing
Left.
