Goodnight Jan, a poem by Jamie B at Spillwords.com

Goodnight Jan

Goodnight Jan

written by: Jamie B

In the quiet corners of our laughter,
I watch your light dim,
each shared moment a thread unraveling,
the weight of unspoken goodbyes hangs heavy.
Your stories linger like fading echoes,
and I clutch the memories,
wishing to freeze time in a fragile embrace,
but time, relentless, slips through our fingers.

I trace the lines of your weathered smile,
each crease a chapter of resilience,
but the horizon darkens with unyielding shadows,
and I am left with whispers of what was.
We spoke of dreams, of futures unwritten,
yet now silence fills the spaces between us,
a haunting reminder of what we will lose.
Your absence will echo in the quiet,
a void where laughter once danced,
and I will carry the weight of your memory,
a bittersweet ghost in the fading light.
Good night I hope you sleep tight
