GOP Debate Round II
by Anne G
The Recap
It is the day after the GOP Debate Part II and although a much better affair than the first, I am left with the sensation that much remains to be seen. Although a variety of themes were touched upon and a wide range of policy was discussed in a much more substantial manner than in the first debate, I, did not come away with a clear vision of who will be the true leader of the Republican Party.
Let’s face it, the field is much too deep and it is much too early to predict a winner. In general, the debate was a success and the general tone was one of civility and professionalism, something really hard to pull off when you have The Press trying to stir up divisiveness.
It is hard to say where we will be in six weeks when the next debate is held, or who of the fifteen will remain standing, but one thing is crystal clear, it will not be business as usual. There is a grassroots movement in motion that will not be detained. Americans are fed up, with the Federal Government, especially the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches. We are done with the shenanigans and platitudes, the mismanaged, misspent and misused use, of our hard earned dollars and, the deceitful and condescending rhetoric of those in whom we have placed our collective trust.
The “Sleeping Giant” has been aroused from a long, lie induced sleep and will not be made to fall into complacency again. When the follies are over, those left standing will be called to task. Restore and repair our Nation’s standing, reputation, economy; or else!
