His Christmas Tale

His Christmas Tale

His Christmas tale, a composition,
is spoken in different voices
and acted upon the stage
and television screens.
Black inked words, reverent
and alluring, like a hymn written
by a monk, caresses and bleeds
through each white page.
Scarlet cover with gold word
and Holly Print as intrigued
as a wreath’s ribbon,
becomes old and faded.
When read, the words
become intertwined with
a disembodied voice,
conjuring characters and
a period long gone from its pages, like specters.
Your Christmas tale Dickens remains since December.
