Homage To Sleep

Homage To Sleep

O mighty soporific sleep of noon,
The sadness, that vampire, vanished today,
No hypnotic just a snooze at midday.

Youth regained, desires for free,
One hundred and eighty degrees clearly seen,
The mind’s whole dome pristine and clean.

The heavy cool rain refreshes the air,
The tide licks beaches clean everywhere,
Spring redresses each and every tree,
Time moves to start new acts for me,
But none compete with thy lullaby tune,
O mighty soporific sleep of noon.
