As you lie,
With all your broken promises.

As all my
Dreams soon fade away.
Promises, dreams,
Always seem,
Like forever they will last.
You came,
Wasn’t the same,
But you broke me into.
My heart,
Torn apart,
As love turned to ice.
My life,
The strife
Was meaningless in your hands.
My love you took,
My heart you shook,
Oh love eluded me again.
I’ll awake,
I’ll make,
No more attempts to love.
I am 43 and have been married once for ten years. I do not regret this but it’s been hard to find a new love to stay.
