I Cry As You Lie

I Cry As You Lie

written by: Jessica Moore

I cry,
As you lie,
With all your broken promises.
I die,
As all my
Dreams soon fade away.
Promises, dreams,
Always seem,
Like forever they will last.
You came,
Wasn’t the same,
But you broke me into.
My heart,
Torn apart,
As love turned to ice.
My life,
The strife
Was meaningless in your hands.
My love you took,
My heart you shook,
Oh love eluded me again.
I’ll awake,
I’ll make,
No more attempts to love.

I am a 41 yr old mother of one only child, and someone who’s had their heart broken more times than I can count. I’ve only been married once and it was for ten years. We divorced due to him choosing drugs over our family. And it took me ten years to get over what could’ve been. My heart is on the mend with each poem I compose.
