Imagination

Imagination

written by: Talida Barbe

I whisper your name
and I think of forests
I feel your hair
and I think of tides
I kiss your eyes
and I think of grass
I taste your lips
and I think of oceans
I touch your thigh
and I think of mountains
I hold your hand
and I imagine tomorrow
I lay by your side
and I feel you disappear
I listen to your words
and I drown in their silence
I pull myself up
and I see you nowhere
you never were
you are not
and never will be
made of flesh and bone
and yet
you are the past
the present
and the future
that will forever follow me.
