Just Listen

There are sentences in each inadvertent sound
Each noise speaks
just listen
A tap of heels down an empty hallway
The breath of light breeze passes your way
Silently in discussion with your inner hearing
gearing of a mechanism beyond your waking perception
Just like there are no words without a meaning
So is true of sound
Why program a mind to perceive a splash
A cry
If these waves weren’t meant for reasonings
For listening
Before speaking another vibrating common message
To oft used in banality
Imploring you dear reader
Stop and listen to the snow’s crackle
Hear the industry’s buzz about you
A simple sigh and its fathomless meanings
If you just stop
You’ll Really hear them

My writing is typically written while I'm on a treadmill, so I call myself "the treadmill poet!"
Born in West Chester Pa in 1960 I have been inspired to begin writing again through my interactions with two people I care deeply about that are experiencing the torrents of mental illness.
