Keeping in Touch

Keeping in Touch

written by: Anthony John Ward

I cannot bring myself to delete your number,
Believing that one day I will call you and you will answer.
Though I know this will never be.
I will miss you to the end of my days,
Though I will remember you always.
Your smile I carry like a torch through the dark days of my mind,
Shinning upon memories projected like our favourite movies
That I like to watch again and again.
Playing over my thoughts in my daydreams,
Where I take myself back to when we were together,
Sharing the same space and time,
The same space and time that separates us now,
So that then and now is all the same,
Like you’re still with me even though you’re gone.
That’s why I cannot bring myself to delete your number,
Knowing that one day I will call you and you will answer.
