My Lips Are Sealed…Sometimes
written by: Norj Joseph
I tried to keep the past confined in the dark
Inside the locker where everything started
But sitting here with you made me talk about her
And spill the words I know I shouldn’t bear
My lips were sealed, that’s what I thought
But I found myself confessing how she changed
Some days, she was a fire, the next a freezing storm
Her mood was a puzzle, impossible to solve
She used to look at me with eyes so bright,
But piece by piece her warmth began to rust
I watched her vibrant colors turn to pale
As all her promises dissolved to dust
I shouldn’t paint her blurred picture to you
Or map the ways her affection slowly died
But silence is a rule I always follow
Because my lips are sealed… sometimes
