O Come, All Ye Faithfull

O Come, All Ye Faithfull

written by: Lorraine Murtagh

Salutations, greetings, welcome;
to our temple, all the faithful.
Come and worship.

Too colourful to pray
yet we do;
Blinded with desire.

Adoration, dedicated devotion
from the pious.
Recruit new followers.

Tinny melodic sounds;
organ playing.
Casino hymns singing.

Ching, ching, ching;
Zealous for your undivided
attention. Hear me!

Feed the collection;
soul expanding. Pull, wait,
one, two, three.

Prayers, chants, mantras:
Whisper, “Please, God.”
Kiss the icon.

Our Lady of Luck;
Fruits of fortune, hear
our prayer.

Loyal, staunch, unswerving;
Arms outstretched, kneeling.
Coins spill forth.
