Ode to a Sleepless Night

Ode to a Sleepless Night

written by: Mohit Saini

Oh, restless thief of folded time—
you unravel hours like tangled twine,
while the world exhales in moonlit rest,
and I alone remain unblest.
You hum the tune of ticking clocks,
of doors that creak, of distant fox,
of wind that taps the windowpane
like fingers pleading to be let in.
You paint the walls with shadow-plays—
a dance of doubt in silver grays,
while memories, unasked, arrive
to sit beside me, half-alive.
Oh, sleepless night, you stubborn guest,
why cling so close when I crave rest?
Yet in your grip, I come to see
what daylight blinds so easily:
The raw, unfiltered truth of me—
unmasked, unspun, and wildly free.
So stay, then. Let the silence steep.
We’ll keep our watch. We’ll dream awake.
