One Storm, for Another

One Storm, for Another

written by: Amulya

When the darkness of the sky combines together
I breathe in the quiet, wanting the moment to last forever
The wind blowing in my face, surrounding me with its cuddles
But all the other souls rush into their cradles

A thunderclap slaps in the distance, like the earth split in half
It comforts me knowing I’ve not walked the hardest path.
The roar in the sky asserts its dominance on the soil
But whispers in my ear, it would always comfort me in my turmoil

The trees stand to shiver, blanketing me in their zone
Rain pours down, welcoming my tears when I stand like a stone,
A storm outside, calming the one I called my own.
