Parade of Naught

written by: Anne G

One by one
parade of naught
marching sightless
mindless herd

Packed in tightly
gripped with fear
none break ranks
permission sought

On and on
parade of naught
silenced voices
empty streets

Muffled mouths
fingers sheathed
hollow eyes
repeat defeat

Why write?
I write because I am:
Driven to distraction by the inequities of the society in which we live.
Motivated by cruelty, abuse, ignorance and indifference.
My intention: To poke, prod and provoke!
"Moderation is a fatal thing. Nothing succeeds like excess." - Oscar Wilde
