reflections of she
written by: Rochelle Foles
@shellilouwho
the she
i see
reflected
kcab
at me
is not the me
i know myself
2b.
where is that she?
mirror
mirror
on the wall
can u bring
her
back
at all?
in this place
of
solitude
beyond the space of
light years
between
the inception
of our galaxy
and the end of our
finite
universe
i stand
shoulder
to
shoulder against
the
cold flint cliffs
that confine me
black
every where
terror
beyond
for a girl afraid of the dark
i hear alley echoing around me
“never give up
never say die”
i’m
looking for my ladder
in order
to escape
this
vale of doom
NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR:
depression is one of our nation’s most crippling diseases.
everyone experiences it differently and for different durations.
this is my reflection of struggling with bipolar depression and regular old mid-life existential crisis.
yes, it’s all around u.
especially in those u least expect.
