River of Thoughts
written by: Melanie Barrow
A trickle barely seen,
A thought germinating
Winding away from the source
Meandering an unknown course.
Gathering momentum, then
Depositions fall from the pen.
The river flows content
Until around a weir it’s sent.
Round and round so turbulent
Concentric circles to circumvent.
Then whoosh and on it goes,
Words gush, stories compose,
Thoughts crash against my mind.
Possibilities widen, unconfined,
And leave the consciousness –
Explode into spaciousness
