Roots of Resilience
written by: Chahra Beloufa
Far from home,
A rootless tree, with seeds to sow,
Belly stretched like dawn’s first light, heavy as a laden sea,
Balancing work demands,
Yet dreaming bold, with plans to expand.
I am not a stranger; I am a flame,
A fire that grows, never quite the same.
With swollen feet and hands worn strong,
I build a path, where roots belong.
I gather strength from distant lands,
My heart is both gentle and ironclad.
In silence, as the morning wakes,
I rise, unbowed, for all it takes.
A mother, fierce, with visions clear,
Unmoved by distance, doubt, or fear.
Not just to bear, but to inspire,
With purpose deep, and spirit afire.
For every step, a testament,
To all the dreams in each moment spent—
An ambitious heart, steady and keen.
Here in the dawn of life anew,
A mother’s strength, boundless and true
