Siren’s Song

Siren’s Song

written by: Mary Bone

While out to sea
a siren’s song
drifted over to me
telling me of the
days of old,
when mysteries would unfold
about pirates and ships
sailing on the salty sea,
of gold and treasure plundered
from vessels.
Tales of canons sounding
like thunder, of rolling
smoke, of blood and gore
always coming back for more.
