I was born and bred in Coventry and write under the pseudonym 'Ricky Hawthorne', a character from one of my favourite books from my teenage years, 'Ghost Story' by Peter Straub. In 2002, fearing I would lose my job, I started an MBA in Theatre, Film and Literature at Warwick University, graduating in 2006. During the course I, inexplicably, developed a film narrative inside my head. I then wrote out a script. My first screenplay – ‘Myth’. Since then I have completed four more with the latest ‘Would Love to Meet’ being the first requested by a producer through Inktip. I also have written three teleplays based on my own short stories, a children’s short story, 3 stage plays, a TV Pilot and found my fondness for writing poetry return after several years of dry wood. I am married to my lovely Mairea and we have 5 children.
