Tantalus

Tantalus

written by: Alex Serezis

Part I

Before
Tantalus, born king
Spoke with gods and walked their halls
Fate weaves his downfall.

Part II

Hubris
Mortal among light
Offered them an evil feast
Sin masked as honor.

Part III

Nemesis
Water at his lips
Fruit above, just out of reach
Hunger without end.

Part IV

After
In Hades he waits
Tantalized: to glimpse, not grasp
Hope becomes torment.
