The Way Forward

The Way Forward

When you reach that point in the road
That everyone said was unreachable
After spiralling through country lanes
Narrowly missing oncoming traffic
You’ll see the road is clear now

The way is unmapped
And anything could happen
The way back is now roadworks
So the only way is forward
It’s time to write your own map

When you think this is the end
You’ll realise it’s only the beginning
Climbing a mountain means
Someday you’ll reach the top
Then look back on how far you’ve come

There will always be mountains
And potholes in the road
Broken bridges to stop you crossing
Forcing you to go the long way around
You’ll soon realise, it was all part of the journey
