The Yellow Leaf

The Yellow Leaf

written by: Bipul Banerjee

It was time for the yellow leaf
To disengage and fall down
From the branch it clung to for ages
Gravity escorted it on a new journey
The wind propelled it to a new destination
Leaving behind a temporary void
The greener leaves didn’t jump to conclusions
About the fall
About the empty space
For all know their fate one day
While you are still hanging around
Why not devour the sunlight
Drink the morning dew
Feel the breeze hot or cold
The fall is sure to come
The void is definite to happen
An atom of green has just sprouted
In the place vacated by the yellow
The temporary void shall soon be forgotten
The cycle of nature shall wheel on
So why not see the green while you still await your fall?
