‘Tis The Season

written by: Fotoula Reynolds

Welcome December
Merry men and women
Joyous festivities
Rhyme and reason
Rushing here
Rushing there
Busyness everywhere
Shopping frenzy
Time to create the family recipe

Neighbourhood carolling
Humanity calls
Open thy doors
Free entry all
Rich or poor
Food to share
And some to spare
Kindness galore
Spreading good cheer
Forever more

Presents to deliver
Receiving and giving
Love is the overall winner
Your company is my gift
Past, present and future
You give me such a lift
Family, friends, community
All come together
Please sit at my table
For now we gather

Storytelling comes to life
Children listen with their eyes
The magic show starts
Puppetry makes all laugh
Christmas in Australia
Coo-ee, there’s no place I’d rather be
Cultures combine
A tradition and a treat
Yours and mine
Such a magnificent feat
