“Tomorrow” – an excuse
written by: Sushree Sangita
Somewhere deep in midnight’s hush
Beneath a starry moonlit flush
Each silence-so cold-so immense
I feel my fragile existence
Too hard to choose what’s right
When shadows blur the edge of light
Far from all I know
Spends time with thoughts that grow
Moments come that test my soul
Trials may take their toll
I drift alone, a quiet thinker
Haunted by life’s looming anchor
But outcomes may not make me
To satisfy as a whole
Darkness softened by moon’s grace
Like midnight kiss by sunlight face
What I fear-“Tomorrow’s Flight ”
What I forgot-“Today’s might”
Still, I hold the world so tight
“UNCERTAINTY”- my quiet fight
In sleep’s deceit
I pretend to stand on weary feet
Afraid to chase what fate might hold
My hands once bold, now softly fold
As choice demands a voice
I trade it for next day’s noise
For in delay- I find disguise
A place to pause, behind my lies
Not weak, not brave- just torn in two
Between the now & what I might do.
