Back when I was 7 and had no cares in this world
Back when I was little and everything was gold
Back before I knew this world could be so cruel
Back before I’d cried enough tears to fill a pool
I used to think that everything
was just so beautiful
And I never gave up, on
even the worst people
I used to think everyone was nice
back before they’d shut me up
quiet as the mice
Back when I was younger
it seems like yesterday
but at the same time
it seems so far away
