What do you see when you look in the mirror
Tired eyes that could be clearer
Tight mouth with lips that are pinched
Defined jaw from teeth you’ve clenched
Weathered skin that’s lost its shine
Limp hair, graying and fine

Or do you see experience in those eyes
A hundred things you’ve done
No one thought you’d try
A mouth that spoke when others couldn’t
Lips ready with a smile
When others wouldn’t
Sun-kissed skin from days of fun
Tufts of new hair
When once there was none

Do you see someone nearing their end
Or do you see more adventures up ahead
Do you see someone who never took a bet
Or do you see someone who lived without regret
Do you see a life that was well-lived
Do you see someone you’d gladly call friend

Who do you see when you look in the mirror
