Mono No Aware:

An Ode to a Bittersweet Moment of Fading Beauty and Impermanence

written by: Debra Black

a shooting star
shadow dancing with death,
crystal splintering whiteness,
white, white, whiteness of white -lightness of light-
cracking open the sky.
longing and devotion to the impermanent,
the beauty of it all.
the passage of fleet-footed time;
the emptiness and potential;
of everything and nothing.
all written in stardust
on the black, black, black,
blackness of the nightly sky.
gentle tears,
fading blossoms.
the coming and going of all things.
the seen and the unseen.
