Her Rootless Garden of Hope

Her Rootless Garden of Hope

written by: Nazam Riar

in my heart
amidst titanic psychosis
blooms a yellow bud
babbling with the stars
snickering at the sun
I watered it with hope
sunflower it became
solitary in its pain
relishing every iota of rain
//
dozen of them mounted straight in a row
smouldered soldiers braving the foe
ray of smooching sunlight enhanced the hue
these roses were sans thorns for sure
//
solitary sunflower watched this shrubbery bloom
not green-eyed but beaming in its blush
buoyantly, my wish will be granted…
when scion of this utopian thought finds a root.
