Beyond Time and Space
written by: Lori Marchesin
You often enter my dreams
but I don’t have much to give you.
I carry life on my shoulders
enclosed in translucent memories.
I can show you how the stars
still flood the lagoon while
a blue moon swings
over San Marco’s bell tower.
How the green apple I’m biting,
can’t fill the pit in my stomach.
I can take you
where we left our footprints
well visible despite time corrosion.
And I want to tell you everything.
How love flooded our space
and how the scars of time
stain my skin.
I’d like to whisper to you how absence
stalls on my limbs
but it comforts me to feel you
safely moored
in my heart.
