The Sentencing Of A Word
written by: Anne G

I sat upon my chair to ponder,
the many things
I’d done and said.
The longer I pondered,
the greater
the dread.
I wished the thoughts inside my head,
would long have stayed there
and not fled.
For words that serve no good intention,
never, ever,
should be spoken.
What has been uttered,
from mouth unfettered
has no return; the sentence sealed.
Tis true,
that sticks and stones may break your bones
but words that harm, devour the soul.
