Stay

Stay

written by: Rayna More

Fists clenched,
cheeks drowning.
Heart’s sinking,
chest is pounding.
Internally screaming
Why me? Why my baby?
What did I do wrong?
Somebody save me.

My heart, not breaking,
but being smashed by a hammer.
I love you so much,
my thoughts begin to stammer.

Eyes blurring,
breathing heavy.
Shoulders trembling,
caressing my belly.
Please stay with me,
I don’t want you to go.
I’d love you unconditionally,
that I already know.

Desperate to meet you,
to learn who you might be.
Please hang in there baby,
I’m not ready to say goodbye to thee.
