Your hands in mine
Facing this night
Of darkness and silence
Yet with so much to say
As we deny
Our own thoughts
And existence
In this circle
Of life
I bowed to the moon
As you slowly began to cry
Faded into the light
Of your clear blue eyes
Chanting memories
Of our yesterdays past
We comfort the silence
And begin to look
Elsewhere
As in to hide in our own heartbeats
Playing drums softly
If only you
If only I
Stop the tears
That will never fall
From these dry
Brown eyes.
Silence
As I begin to play
These empty piano keys
And you softly
Say “goodbye”
