I Feel, Feel

I Feel, Feel

written by: Natalia Aeschliman

Sometimes
I feel
Feel…

Like a muted bird inside a cage
My voice echoes in the vastness of the voids
Reaching no one
Even though everyone can hear it

I feel
Feel
Like a bird without its wings
standing by a window,
freedom right in front of me
Mocking me
But I cannot fly.
I cannot go.

I feel
Feel
Like an acrobat without a rope
A mermaid without her fin
An ocean without its waves
So vain, so vain…

Muted words
Cut wings
Dried seas and broken dreams
I feel
Feel

Unseen.
