A House Is Not A Home

What is a house if not a frame
filled to the top with this and that
Construction – building – edifice
void of the ones’ that give it life
Mortar and brick that hold it tall
will crumble into rock and dust
The day the love and joy subside
the warming hearth grows cold and dark
A house is naught if not a home
a home is filled with DNA
It is the place you hang your hat
and welcomes you no matter what
Where memories grow throughout the years
the house turned home by all who live
So fan the embers till they glow
the heart- the hearth – the house
Your Home Sweet Home
