Inching my way forward in the dark
Moving toward nothing…yet possibly something
I can’t see them with my eyes
Though I still feel a presence
I was called to be here to help
And possibly invite something
Which doesn’t belong
To speak and let me know
Why it…just…will…not…leave
Why it is still holding on
To a life which left long ago
It preys on the weak who seem to invite
Chaos into their lives
While those who are haunted pray to be left alone
But no one is ever truly by themselves….in the dark
The abandoned can find a friend
The addicted can fill their need
The forlorn can feel comfort
Falsely, while being deceived
Giving it energy to be
Somehow alive in some form
They continue to give it power
Until their souls are scared
And they call me in to force the dead away
But I can only nudge
And hope it doesn’t attach to me on the way out
