Behold

Behold

Poetry

Behold

those mighty glaciers there

remnants of the last Ice Age

giants made of time-forged snow

flowing gracefully to and fro

testaments of nature’s power

Behold

those mighty glaciers there

retreating as we live and breath

greenhouse gases – CO2

catalysts of  certain doom

cataclysmic world-wide change

Behold

those mighty glaciers there

global warming- rising seas

epic flooding to be sure

word to the wise

we’ve been forewarned

Behold

those mighty glaciers there

we are the guardians

of planet Earth

entrusted with it’s love and care

for us and them, for those to come

Why write?
I write because I am:
Driven to distraction by the inequities of the society in which we live.
Motivated by cruelty, abuse, ignorance and indifference.
My intention: To poke, prod and provoke!
"Moderation is a fatal thing. Nothing succeeds like excess." - Oscar Wilde
