Bittersweet

written by: Hannah B Jackson

You were like a natural waterfall surrounded by the most beautiful wildlife
Your eyes could talk dirty without you mentioning a word
Your smile electrified my world and I couldn’t resist the radiance of the reflection
Never knew there was a darker forest in your heart that’ll darken my universe forever
Day by day, you shewed me your alcoholic symptoms
But I thought I had the medicine to heal your rut
Didn’t know if I tried to help you, I will drown in my patience and love
I will be unimportant and worthless from your point of view
I did know you loved me but never knew how to express it
You always made me feel like the mistake in our fantasy
I thought I wasn’t good enough for you
My mind was slowly becoming a dominance to your perspective
You wrapped me around your fingers and hostage me in your romance
Now I’m trapped in this bittersweet love.
