Climb

Nothing but anxiety comes to mind,
As I look above,
taking 3 deep breaths,
and say ok, it’s time,
feeling like I’m about to climb Mount Everest,
But really that’s only an allusion,
As I wait, I hesitate,
taking it step by step,
wishing and hoping,
I can finally get there,
to the chair that helps get around,
in our world that isn’t made for me,
But I still try to climb,
no matter what’s in front of me,
Although it may take me a while to get to the wheelchair,
I consider to be my anchor,
and my best friend that helps me climb,
each obstacle I might face in a world that doesn’t quite get me
