Contemplation
written by: M J Christie
Deep inside this mind, I reflected
insignificant things–
irrelevant thoughts circled back
blind to what was real, true, here, now–
in this place– before she came.
But now this mind lives ever in the present, beholds
flashes of life that shine where stagnant thoughts once held sway.
A warm embrace
her radiance
enriches
me
When I look at her, all past hurts wash away
in their place
a distant landscape unfolds– becomes clearer,
when I hold her hand feelings blossom–
a garden nurtured brought back to life,
when I kiss her time ceases– our breath combining in gasps
transmits a fleeting recognition of who we really are.
