Dreams

written by: Papia Ray

When alone in a crowd I think of you
It is not your person I think about
It is your eye that holds all feelings true
The virtues that abide there without doubt.

As true as the golden sun that now shines
As true as the blue sea kissing the beach
As true as the dear earth that forever pines
Let my love be a star you wish to reach.

As seasons change from one to another
As feelings blossom into true desire
Let me not in your dreams remain ever
But burn like a candle without a fire.

My world of dreams I behold in your eye
And there may they dwell after my goodbye.
