Embryo
written by: Urhuru
The first stage is always the easiest.
A spark – a sudden surge of excitement,
Seven thousand ideas race through.
Morning sickness,
I’m told it happens to everyone,
So I relax.
Pain comes before pleasure.
I feel heavy,
Thoughts protruding,
Visions of success lay before me,
But I hit a wall.
My babies die before they are formed.
Then I understood,
That dreaming big is not enough.
Endless possibilities are everyone’s portion.
Potential:
That word fills one with hope,
That word is also vague and empty,
A coffin- a refuge for dry bones.
