Exploring Loneliness Before Halloween

Exploring Loneliness Before Halloween

written by: Andy Cooper

It was early October
when I asked my neighbor,
Karla, about loneliness
as Halloween approached.
Was I doomed to a life sentence
for never opening up to my crush, Karla?
Karla took off her glasses
and admitted she wondered the same.
We might as well find out together.
That makes two souls no longer lonely.
The smile we shared
was the essence of happiness,
unencumbered by any coldness.
Scarier than any horror flick,
but sweeter than an eggnog latte.
