Fleeing Light

Fleeing Light

written by: Bipul Banerjee

The light is fleeing
The speed accelerating gradually
The intensity is soft
The sharpness is blurred
Is it really fleeing or
The sight is getting muddled?
The darkness is setting in
From light
To dusk
To pitch dark
There is no point on running behind
What is now illusive
What has fled without warning
It is now to make immense
With what has set-in
A feeling of permanency
But with a glint of temporary shelf-life
“Why me” is such an outdated excuse
“What’s it going to teach me,” is the order of the day, day?
The emergence of darkness, drives out chaos
Brings in a somber calm
Paving way for the thirst of solitude to emerge
As the grind pauses
It is time to alight the vehicle of pace
Ground the tiring feet to rest
Get inside and introspect
Shun the need of acknowledgements
Bring in the power of healing self
The wounds, self-imposed or
Inflicted by others
Now need to heal
For the darkness is not to remain for long
As another ray of hope is going to kill it soon
Make immense of the serenity and pump out
All possible esteem
For the journey is still long and
The zeal ‘to be’ is unending
