Won’t Be Swayed

Won’t Be Swayed

written by: Margaret Karim

You touch me
Stir buried emotion
I am scared
Of rising passion
It tickles, bubbles
Under my skin
I hold myself tightly
Keep it within
Do not wish to feel
Once more care
Live life with hope
Lay myself bare
Past wounds crusted
With dead dreams
Further disappointment
Will burst seams
Your fingers are gentle
Attempt to persuade
I push them aside
Won’t be swayed
